Janele Hyer-Spencer represented the 60th Assembly District in the New York State Assembly, which covers the East Shore of Staten Island and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn from January 2007 to December 2010.

An attorney, she has a private law practice specializing in family law and meeting the needs of domestic violence victims.

She previously served as legal director for My Sisters’ Place, a top non-profit in New York that helps victims of domestic violence.

She previously worked as an attorney with New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services.
