Assemblywoman Janele Hyer-Spencer represents the 60th Assembly District, which covers the East Shore of Staten Island and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

In the Assembly, Janele fights for her constituents on the Aging, Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Children and Families, Energy, Judiciary, and Transportation committees.

An attorney, she has a private law practice specializing in family law and meeting the needs of domestic violence victims.

She served as legal director for My Sisters’ Place, a top non-profit in New York that helps victims of domestic violence.

She previously worked as an attorney with New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services.
